Milling

Metal milling is the process of forming an element or part of a component using a high-speed spindle and specialised cutting tool. Using structured geometry and blades, these tools remove excess parts of metal (usually as shavings or dust) to shape components or parts of metalwork. This precise process allows us to produce a range of complex elements and parts suitable for various industries.

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining is a manufacturing process whereby pre-programmed software dictates the movement of tools and machinery. Our advanced machinery is used to create precise metal parts and components by controlling a range of complex machinery, from grinders and lathes to mills and CNC routers. With CNC machining, three-dimensional cutting tasks can be accomplished in a single set of prompts.

Although sophisticated CNC machinery can complete most tasks, we can also manufacture using manual methods. We believe that the ability to produce components in a “traditional” way is a very important skill. This is why all our apprentices are trained in these skills to give them a strong foundation before progressing to more modern machinery techniques. So, from machining components to press tooling, we can fulfil your requirements to very high standards.

Computer-aided design or CAD is one of the first steps in the process of visualising your part or component. Using computer software, we can create a 3D image to map out the shape and dimensions of the part. The process of computer-aided design combined with CNC machining enables us to create precise and detailed metal parts that are suitable for a range of industries.
